Women’s Walking Football

As part of a collaborative project with Bath City Women we have launched our first Womens’ Walking Football session. This is part of our provision for local females looking to either start playing football or keep playing for as long as possible. Our session is open to any female over the age of 16 and provides an inclusive environment to exercise.

It doesn’t matter if you have never kicked a ball or are looking to keep active for life, this could be for you! Walking Football is a level playing field for all, as a non-contact, no heading form of football, it is more about communication and teamwork than individual brilliance.

Missing being part of a team?

Do you have a competitive edge or miss the feeling of going out for a match as a team? Well, Bath City Women are looking to form a Women’s Walking Football team to join the Somerset County Women’s Walking Football League next season. To be eligible to play in the team, you must be aged 35 or over.

Jo Bellotti, who is hoping to lead the team in the new season with Alison Keith said “The love of football never leaves you and whilst running on a full-sized pitch is challenging once you reach a certain age, walking football means you can still enjoy the beautiful game, albeit at a slower pace. If you used to play football, or just fancy giving it a go, we’d love to hear from you.”

If you are interested in joining the team, please register your interest here , and if you would like to find out more information about the Walking Football Session, please make contact here

Our Women and Girl’s provision is supported through funding by The National League Trust

“The National League Trust is a partnership between the National League, the Premier League and the Professional Footballers’ Association. The Premier League and the PFA have committed to support the Trust until 2028. They will each contribute to a donation of £1.2m a year over this period. This allows the Trust is to help National League member clubs develop their community programmes.”
