Premier League Primary Stars U11 National Girls Football Tournament

Moorlands School represented Bath City FC at the National Tournament after winning the B&NES tournament back in November. Out of the 16 schools that attended the competition we work with 9 of the schools through our Premier League Primary Stars sessions.

“It’s fantastic to see all the children get the opportunity to play and come together through tournaments such as this. Moorlands school can be extremely proud of the girls effort on the day that included a year 4 representative, girls who play for Bath City Youth and a girl playing up front who had never played before and scored her first ever goal. She now wants to play for a team. This demonstrates the power of the Premier League Primary Stars programme, giving everyone the opportunity to achieve and thrive.” - Sam Downes, Premier League Primary Stars Lead.

Our league consisted of Bristol City, Cardiff, Exeter, Forest Green, Newport and Cheltenham. The girls finished first in their league after winning 4 out of 6 games. This put them into the semi finals where they played Plymouth Argyle. The girls were fantastic but unfortunately the game finished 2-1 to Plymouth. A match for third / fourth place followed against Cheltenham Town In the final minute an amazing team goal from Bath ensured the team finished 3rd overall. The day also included an opportunity to take photos with the Premier League trophy.

On behalf of Bath City FC Foundation we would like to thank Moorlands school for representing Bath City and the team can be extremely proud of their achievements.
